~ Santa visits The Empty Nest and getting crafty ~

Hello friends!
Busy...Busy at The Empty Nest.
Our Holiday Open House was a big success and it was so great visiting with all my friends.
Santa and one of his elves even made an appearance!
Ok...so they arrived on a motorcycle, nothing weird about that....right?
The shop ladies and I picked a favorite phrase to place on my painted door in the shop window.
Hilary Tupper suggested it and I think it is perfect.

Lucky Hilary will get to pick out a quart of her favorite Chalk Paint® by Annie Sloan.
Now that the Open House is behind me I have had some time to get creative with all my available bits and bobs in the shop studio.
I loved crafting these sweet and simple wire hearts and I made them extra special and sparkly with Imported German Glass Glitter.
I can envision a whole tree covered in these glittery beauties.
My dear friend Donna recently lost her sweet Mother and has been going through the hard task of sorting through her Mom's things. If you have lost a loved one in your life, you know how hard this can be.
Donna recently gifted me with some teacups that belonged to her Mom....they were minus the saucers.
I decided to use them to create little snowy vignettes using some little pink sisal trees I sell at the shop.
What do you think...I think Donna's Mom would have loved them.
And of course it is always fun to play with my stash of antique sheet music.
I made the little center star from 5 tiny sisal trees.
These wreaths are also great to make using maps or book pages.
I am itching to get creative with all the new Cavallini & Co. wraps the have arrived at
The Empty Nest.
Decoupage...drawer liners...posters and even...WRAPPING!
The vintage images and colors are stunning and so much fun. We carry so many beautiful designs.
Vintage cats, dogs, Santa, owls, sewing, tea cups, World and USA maps....and so much more.
Old Town Warrenton all iced up
Then there is the weather.....Monday brought an ice storm and as I type this it is snowing pretty aggressively outside. We are due to get 2-5 inches in the next few hours.
Hello Winter!
Workshops at
The Empty Nest will resume in January and I have some new ones in the works.
Keep checking the Workshop button at the top of this page for updates coming soon.
Until next time....be kind and stay creative!
