I just googled "how to slip cover a cha...Hey! I just googled "how to slip cover a chair" and your page was the first one up. The pictures are great and the piping lesson much appreciated. I'm so impressed with your results. Now--how much of that 10 yards of fabric did you actually have to use?
As for pillows: the colors are fine but the patterns are clashy. Try solids, or smaller patterns that incorporate your blue and white from the chair as well as a pop of another color, and different textures. Just saw a yellow faux suede on Fabric.com that I book marked for pillows in my own den. Now, that would really rock your chair! So would red pleather, or go satin/taffeta.
I just discovered Fabric.com a couple of evenings ago...it's still scary to plunk down the money without the touchy-feely experience, and color tones are a gamble. I ordered something safe for another project (black velvet) then ducked into our local JoAnn Fabrics store and hit the lottery on the red-tag clearance" table for my first ever slip cover.
Thank you so very much for sharing your experience and encouraging those of us who are following nervously in your footsteps!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2740949879488808522.post-42059317979942745432011-05-05T02:52:18.806-04:002011-05-05T02:52:18.806-04:00omw...
