I Feel It

Hello friends..I hope all of you enjoyed your Christmas and time with loved ones.

Mine was a little bittersweet, but also very lovely at the same time.

Now about this change thing...

I have been having a strange nagging feeling that a change is in my future...nothing huge, just some kind of change. I can't pinpoint it, but it's coming.

I will keep you posted!

Until next time...be kind and stay creative.

P.S.....remember all those Circle Scarves I have been knitting? I have decided to do some really great giveaways and hoping to spread the warmth. Stay tuned.

It's Christmas Eve!!

Yes, it's finally here...all the shopping is done, the baking is completed and the house is sporting a simpler holiday look this year.
My boys will be arriving soon and I will have the three men I love most in this world around me.
I wish the same for all of you...that you will be surrounded with love and joy this Christmas season.

Merry Christmas!

New York City Gets It Right Every Time

I know all Christmas trees are beautiful....but why does our National Christmas Tree in Washington, D.C always have to look like a torpedo?
Really...every year it looks like this.
Now this is a Christmas Tree!
Rockefeller Center in New York City always has a spectacular tree.
You will have to forgive my biased opinion...I am a New Yorker after all ;-)
Hello friends.....I have been trying to muster up some Holiday spirit, but it seems to be eluding me. I did manage to buy a Christmas tree last Sunday. We picked a doozy of a day too....freezing cold weather with a wind chill factor of about 13 degrees! My hubby dragged me out to a tree lot operated by the Boy Scouts.  Buy a tree and do a good deed at the same time...at least until we looked at their inventory...could not find a Frasier Fir under 12 feet tall!! Who buys trees that big??
I have to admit, they had the cutest little salesmen (boys). All rosy cheeked and so eager to help you..it made me smile.
Then hubby dragged me to another lot. He was determined to infuse some holiday gaiety into me.
I walked up to a nice little 6 foot Frasier Fir and said" that's it...here is the tag, go pay for it"
My hubby stood aghast with his mouth wide open. I think he was in shock. To understand his reaction, you have to appreciate the fact that I have never picked out a tree without having the lot helper hold it out and slowly twirl it around so I can see all sides. Everyone knows your tree has a 'good' side and a 'wall' side. Am I right gals? This whole process can take at least 4 hours in multiple lots. It always seems all the lot helpers are suddenly out to lunch when I arrive. Do you think I am getting a reputation?
I hope to have my little tree up and decorated this weekend...baby steps folks.

I would like to thank all my internet friends for all your kinds thoughts. I seem to find myself quite weepy this past week and I am working on capturing some joy in my life. If you have ever lost a loved one you will understand how I am feeling...it just takes time...lot's of time.
Until next time...be kind and stay creative.

Heaven Has a New Angel Tonight

Dear friends, it is with much sadness that I am writing to let all of you know that my dear friend Phyllis has passed away tonight. It was quiet and peaceful, with her husband and sweet daughter by her side.
She is with her beloved Mother and I just know that they are both trimming a beautiful glittering Christmas tree.
Phyllis raised a beautiful, smart and strong daughter in Crystal and I am so very proud of how she has dealt with all of this. I am also proud of her boyfriend, my son Sean, for always being there for her. I love you both.
My heart is also with Hearlie, her devoted husband, who never left her side.
I would like to say "thank you" to all of you who have left caring comments and sent beautiful e-mails. I appreciated each and every one of them. I love my internet friends and all of you hold a special place in my heart.
Hug your loved ones tonight and never let a day go by without telling them you love them.
Until next time...be kind and stay creative.

Busy Hands and a Grateful Heart

Hello friends...before I continue, I would like to say a very heartfelt thank you to all who have left me a kind and comforting comment. You will never know how I appreciated each and everyone of them. When I come home from the hospital, I sit here and reread them all...they make me smile.
While spending my days by her bedside, I find myself keeping busy with my knitting needles. With lot's of time and lot's of yarn bits and pieces, I have been steadily amassing a pile of these colorful beauties.....
Cozy..Comfy Circle Scarves!
If you are wondering what a Circle Scarf is..think of a loose turtleneck scarf. Very comfortable without being too bulky and minus the tails that get caught in the car door  ;-)
If you look closely, you can see all the pretty remnant yarns from my stash. Baby Alpaca, Soy, Wool, Nylon, Acrylic, Organic Cotton and pretty Polymide Ribbon yarn.
It is a little like making a good soup..a little of this and a little of that, with the end result ( I hope) being delicious.
Maybe when I get time I will do a Giveaway with one...would that interest any of you?
I hope you are all well and enjoying the prep for the holiday season.
Out of respect for Phyliss' family, I am reluctant to talk about her on my blog, however they do appreciate all your prayers and well wishes. Knowing you are being thought about is a big comfort.
Until next time...be kind and stay creative.
