Barry Dixon...Angel Wings...Chalk Paint® by Annie Sloan, the Shop and more!

Hello all you sweet people who continue to come back time after time....even though I neglect you terribly! Believe me, it is never intentional.
I just seem to need more hour that a 24 hour day lately.
Time.....we never have enough, do we?
So here is a snippet of what I have been up to lately....
World famous interior designer, Barry Dixon, stopped by The Empty Nest to
practice some of his 'Shop Local' moves.
Barry was joined by the handsome Will Thomas, Fox News Anchorman in Washington, DC.
Both are the NICEST guys ever!
Come back anytime boys!
These beautiful large wooden wings have been very popular.
They arrive looking a little rugged and with the help of Chalk Paint® by Annie Sloan, I kick them up a notch!
Before Annie Sloan paint in Graphite
I hosted my weekly
'Bring Your Own Piece'
Workshops and saw some pretty impressive restyles. Again, all thanks to Chalk Paint®

And AFTER!!
Just look at that lovely wax finish!

My talented friend Claire, of Sweet Birdy Love, continues to supply
The Empty Nest
with beautifully creative creations. All with her signature free motion stitching and whimsical themes.
The Empty Nest is proud to support and offer the new vintage style jewelry line of
 Tawnya Norton of C'est Moi.
Tawnya is also a Stockist for Chalk Paint® and has a wonderful shop in Brentwood, Tennessee.
I have been very busy dressing The Empty Nest with all the lovely vintage style holiday decorations that have been arriving on a weekly basis.
It is like Christmas each time I open a box!

And lest you think I have given up creating my own holiday items....
On my trip to Europe (that's a whole other blog post!!!), I got my hands
on a few antique Polish feed sacks.
These wonderful old sacks are soft and nubby and just plain delicious!
I sewed up some old fashioned Christmas stockings, using bits of gifted laces and embroidered linens.
I loved working with these so much that I am going to be offering these large sacks for my customers to buy and enjoy.
They will be arriving at the shop very soon.
And of course.....I have continued to get up early to catch the colorful sunrises.
I love sharing these with all of you.
So that's what I have been up to lately.
I have so much more to share, but that will have to come in the next post...my battery is about to die!
Until next time....be kind and stay creative!
