Where have I been or what do weddings and strokes have in common!

Hello friends.......I know, I know, where the heck have I been lately??
Well, the last few months have been pretty intense for my family.
Some good and some very bad.
I did not talk about this on social media, because I did not want people to worry about us.

One Tuesday in July, my hubby came home with a story about experiencing a 10 min episode of drunken type speech, numbness in his left face and the fleeting feeling of being tapped on the back left side of his head.
He finished his work day and did his normal 2 1/2 hour commute by train back home.
The minute he told me these details, I put him in the car and took him to the ER.
Sure enough, he had had a Transient Ischemic Attack...aka TIA.
His blood pressure was
227/115!

When that happens, you get invited to a week-long hospital stay.
Sort of like one of those all-inclusive resorts, minus the pool bar!
You name the test...he had it.
He is home now and very much in control of his blood pressure with the help of some lovely medications.
He knows he was lucky this time, as a TIA is a warning of sorts, foretelling a big stroke is coming.

As if that was not stressful enough, our eldest son was getting married on Aug 11th.
We were very worried about the possibility of hubby's health problems getting in the way of the wedding planning.
NO WAY were we missing our son's wedding !!

Well, all went well and the wedding was a truly joyous occasion for our family.
Aren't they a gorgeous couple?

  Me and my man

My sisters and one of my seven brothers

My second son and best man, Sean, who by the way knocked it out of the ballpark with his VERY funny best man speech.
Well done Sean.
*****
I think you will agree I have had a full plate of life lately.
I am looking forward to things calming down and the quiet tick-tock of life resumes.
I have been really enjoying my art studio time this past month and will share with you in my coming posts, so stay tuned.

Until next time...be kind and stay creative.
Hugs,
Janet xox
