I smell Autumn......

I have noticed the mornings here in beautiful Virginia are coming later. My sun is rising farther to the right of it's usual summer spot. I can always tell when fall is upon us because the sun rises take on a warm rosey glow. I must admit autumn is my absolute favorite season of the year. Everything seems so different..the air is crisp and my late blooming flowers sigh with relief that the heat is gone. My marigolds are so very ...how do I describe them....oh yeah, ORANGE!! My lovely Montauk daises and mums will be blooming in a few weeks.
I am digging out all my stew and soup recipes, unpacking my sweats and turtleneck sweaters and looking for the best deal on Pumpkins. I love having lot's of pumpkins all around my home. I enjoy driving through town and seeing rows of pumpkins in front of peoples houses..it makes me smile.
I have my cozy chenille bathrobe on and I am going to have my second cup of coffee and savor the last few early morning moments of this wonderful Monday. I suggest you do the same..until next time..be kind and stay creative.

Jsnet, I DO love the fall... Right now it is drizzling outside after 2 straight weeks of glorious warm sunny days and cooler nights. The rain is but a part of the changing season and I welcome it readily. I just don't want to think of the white stuff quite yet! LOL

Thanks for your visit. I think I made a great haul last week. I love glassware and always look for it, but I need more storage now...

We are still having a bit of late summer, though we've got a little the tang that you describe - I bet our weathers aren't so different, I must look them up on a globe and see where we both are.

Hi Janet. Just want to attest for all your blogging friends out there that what you describe is true, only better in real life. Even though it was eight hours there and eight hours back, the day in between was absolutely beautiful. Like living in a postcard. Your house is so warm in colors and decorations it just relaxes a person... whether they want to or not! Right from the creaky spot in the hardwood floor as you walk into kitchen to the beautifully framed rolling horse pastuer scenery out of the upstairs octagon bathroom window. Brushing my teeth was never so enjoyable! It was really hard to leave after such a short visit. And thank you for supplying the grits for breakfast! Made this transplanted yankee southern boy feel right at home!
See you soon...
Your brother Bobby
