This was intended to be a Wordless Wednesday post...then I realized that I am incapable of being 'wordless'.
I wanted to share a few photos of one of my favorite birds to listen to..the Northern Mockingbird. Just listen to the varied songs they can mimic..incredible. I tried to count them one time and had to give up. They are not the most colorful, but I think they are striking and those eyes...piercing. This guy visits me everyday and snacks on my peanut butter suet and washes it down with a chaser of water.
Love this photo of the Cardinal coming in for a landing and a quick snack. Click on pic's to get a closer look.
Mr. Mockingbird was not in a sharing mood...now, now boys, can't we all just get along? Hey Steph..this is for your grandbabies ;-)
Until next time..be kind and stay creative.

Awe he's so beautiful!
honestly, i am quite confident that i would prefer to hear your mockingbird over the AI contestants this year. cool photos, janet!
Great photos and video. I wish I could get good shots of my birds.
I LOVE mocking birds no matter what their reputation for singing in the middle of the night and such. I did not see the cardinal at first either! She is slightly muted and blended in. Nice pics.
I know what you mean about wordless...
We have those here, but I haven't seen them yet this year. Too cold!
This post made my day! I have never seen (or heard) a Mockingbird~ How dear!!!
Your photographs are so sweet...
Thank you for the wordless-words~
Michelle
Amazing photos! we have blue jays but they never seem to sit still long enough for me to get the camera and snap a picture :(
I kept reading the title wondering when you were gonna get to talking about American Idol...duh...now I get it...well those birdies sure can sign better then some of the guys last night.
Hey you won't believe this, but just this afternoon Big T and I saw this bird and wondered what it was. Now I can tell him it is a Mocking Bird. He was much bigger than the other birds at the feeder but not as big as the doves that were sitting on the sideline watching.
Your bird friends look so happy to have food and water this winter. We should really put up a feeder, my daughter would love it.
Those are really great photos... I really enjoy taking outdoor pics too. My son takes alot of pics of the birds that are on our porch. Thanks for sharing.
Thank You also for all your prayers. Have a great day. Blessings,
love the shots. def the one where the cardinal is landing is amazing.
