Easter Picnic

Hello friends...I hope your Easter Sunday was as lovely as mine. My family and I were invited to join my son, Sean's, girlfriends family( that never sounds grammatically correct) on a picnic. Sadly my older guy, Billy, was working and headed to New York City (we missed you Billy). I had no idea where we were going to picnic, so when we pulled up to this home, I was dumbfounded. How wonderful to wake up to this scenery every day! Crystal's Aunt & Uncle live here and graciously welcomed us to come fish and picnic by their pond.
We parked our cars, walked down these fabulous stone steps and gazed with delight at this...........
If I lived here I would have my morning coffee, afternoon iced tea and evening glass of Riesling right here on this dock! I would probably have to install a port-a-potty, because I would not want to leave. Isn't it beautiful?
Sean and Crystal took their dog Daisy out in the canoe with them...she jumped in to get the duck decoy and had to be rescued. I think she thought it was going to harm them.

Here is my man doing what he loves best.....fishing! He fished the whole 5 hours and caught a sunburn...;-)
I had to take a stroll around the pond to take some pic's for you guys. This is the top of the hill looking down on the dock and home. The long and winding road (hey..that would make a good song title) is their driveway....hate to have to shovel that one!
I wish you could hear the wonderful rushing sound this spring made and the water was crystal clear and icy cold.
On the other side of the stream we found these beauties grazing. They were not bashful at all. They came running over as soon as they saw me.
I love horses...so majestic and proud . I wished I could have gotten closer, but a second fence kept 4 feet away.
This mottled beauty was especially intrigued by me. He stayed right at the fence the whole time. Virginia really is a beautiful place. This scene is repeated in hundreds of small towns and hamlets all around the state. It is a 1 1/2  hour commute for my man into Washington, DC, but he would not have it any other way. People ask him why he lives way out here and he tells them.."because I can breathe out here!" We could never live in one of those crowded subdivisions close to the city. No disrespect to all my friends who prefer that kind of closeness, but now that kids are grown and schools and playmates are not a consideration...we choose the country.
So that was my Easter...I hope yours was just as wonderful.
Until next time...be kind and stay creative.
PS.......come back Tuesday for Tutorial Tuesday with Hope Studios and learn something!

Hey Sis... I love the pictures! I did happen to notice that it really looks like your property (without the lake)... Maybe when Bill has some free time, he can gather up some friends and a few shovels and make you one? I'm sure Sean and Billy would 'dig' in too... How about little brother Joey... He's pretty handy!!
Glad you had a great Easter!!
XOXOXO
Love ya!
