The Fabulous Precision of Nature..Is This Perfection?

I picked this seed head of a dandelion the other morning. It totally fascinated me...the symmetry and precision...incredible. I know most consider the dandelion a horrid weed, but just look at it's beauty. Surely that must lend it some redemption! They say if you blow the seeds off the head, however many seeds are left is how long you will live....I was not brave enough to look into my future. Are you?
Have a lovely weekend...until next time, be kind and stay creative.

wouldn't it be cool if you could paint them...each little flowing seed head...then they could fly away in a rainbow of colors...

Hello Janet, I've been away for most of the week so I'm a bit behind! I didn't see your nice message about tweeting my new shop until today. Thank you so much! I haventrouble to keep up with everything...I now have read all the wonderful blog posts you've written since my departure. Where to begin? Well, I LOVE peach pie...over here you don't really have pie like we have in the states. I love making it, so am very grateful for the weekly fix. I do love that dandelion photo too. So pretty! And by the way, I love the stories of kings and queens too...now all we get is stories of bankers. Such much more boring!

What a great photo Janet! We loved to blow away the dandelion seeds when I was little :) Have a lovely weekend! (Sorry I missed pie-day - must catch up : /)

Loved the photo, Janet...I enjoy dandelions, but I understand how people living with manicured lawns curse them, but living in the country, I can and do enjoy their beauty!

Andy was just saying today that he rather admired Dandelions for their *attitude*, (as he was pulling them up!)such happy flowers. Over here we used to say that you could tell the time by how many puffs it took to blow the seeds away - which is a little less frightening than knowing the end of ones's days!

Hehe it's often said here in Australia to make a wish then blow the seeds away. If you can blow them all off in one go, your wish comes true =)
