Promise of a New Day

Hello friends and happy Sunday. We had some deadly storms come through our area yesterday and it got very scary for a while. Tornado warnings were issued and we kept the basement door open...just in case.
I went to bed with this on my mind........

t
But woke up to this. From dark storms had come raspberry bottomed clouds

and big puffy clouds dancing in a gorgeous blue sky
A promise of a new day and maybe a lilac or two.
Until next time...be kind and stay creative
Ok...you know me by now....I had to give you a sweet bird for your Sunday!

Wow, so frightening! I'm glad you are all okay.

The storms came through New England last night. Nothing as frightening as tornado warnings, but lots of thunder, lightning, howling wind, and pouring rains.

It's nice to wake to sun and clouds :)

Glad things turned out ok your way! We got the pleasure of it coming through in the middle of the night... just like the last few storms! Not much sleep but no damage! With no basement here, I am getting to be a pro in moving important items(sewing machines and mannequin!) to a safe place! I thought I was over that after I moved away from Savannah! Oh well...tis the season!

We got that crazy weather here too. That was a lot of water and wind. A big chunk of a neighbor's tree came down in our yard after the storms but when it was so windy. No damage, nobody hurt and it gave the men a chance to take out the chain saw toys and cut it up! It's cooler but beautiful here today. Love the sunshine! Have a nice Sunday.

We got our share here in NC as well. 62 tornado sitings in a few hours. No damage for our immediate community, but the closest touchdown and damage was about 10 miles away. Was a scary day - glad to be through with that one. At least it went through here in the middle of the day (not night). Janet, I'm glad you and your family made it through with no damage.

Hugs - Marie

It was CUR AZE EEE weather here yesterday too. The wind blustered and gusted all night long. But, like you... it's a perfect spring day today.

Hey Janet, have seen footage of the tornadoes on the news. The power in them is awesome...............

So much damage, it must be a very scary time, when warnings are issued. I think I would have to sleep in the basement. I can't imagine I would be able to sleep otherwise.

So glad you are OK and all is well, enjoy your week,

Claire :}

So glad you've weathered these horrible storms without any loss. The pic of the bird....oh my gosh! Ok, I'm gonna get long winded here for a sec....a while back you posted a pic of a bird that was sitting near a deck railing ir maybe a bird bath...sorry memory not great today! LOL! I think it had a bright blue chest...I wanted to ask you permission to paint that image. I'd be happy to give you full credit for the image-I just really loved that bird and I'm always on the look out for great wildlife images to paint. Please email me if you'd allow me to paint that beautiful bird!

Thanks!

Oh, I saw a perfect cardinal while driving down the street yesterday and you popped right into my head!

We missed this line of storms ourselves, but the communities of several blogging friends had damage done over the weekend. Your lilac and finch are lovely, Janet!

Those pics are so pretty! It rained all day here Saturday, so it must have been heading your direction.

Those storms were something. We had tornado warnings, too, and actually headed to the basement for a while.

Your photos are beautiful and I especially love those bird shots!
