Hello friends...yes, I love a good cloudy day. I know, I know...you are all out of your seats yelling "but Janet... all we have had are rain and clouds".
But, come on guys....just look at my sky yesterday!
Clouds and sun....that's what I'm talking about!!!
I finally figured out the Panoramic setting on my camera....DUH.
Such cotton ball puffiness. It makes me smile.
I will never understand how folks can not stop and take a moment to appreciate what hangs in their sky everyday. People waste hours looking for beauty in movies, fashion magazines, movie stars. When all along it is right out their windows, if they would only look up.
Speaking of things in the sky (birds) my Mockingbirds are doing beautifully. So far, of the four eggs, two have hatched.
Poor Mama Mockingbird, she has been so very diligent in protecting her babies. We have had horrible winds, rain and really bad weather for the last couple of weeks. Her nest is very low and exposed, but she sits there and doesn't budge...no matter what.
Can you see the second baby?
I thought at first that this was a Robins nest, because I kept seeing this guy going back and forth. Turns out he has a nest in a tree right next to the Mockingbirds rose bush.
So it looks like I will have baby Mockingbirds and baby Robins very soon.
On an even sweeter note, and I'm talking mouth watering sweet, My secret agent celebrated his birthday last night with a luscious cake.
I was planning on Chocolate, but ran out of good cocoa...so I chose my next best cake.
Vanilla Almond with fresh fruit filling and cream cheese frosting.
This is one my most requested cakes. It is moist and so full of flavor you would never guess it began life as a box mix.
Seriously....this cake is as close to tasting like a scratch cake as I've ever eaten.
Just ask anyone in my family (and I have a huge family!).
I'll happily post the recipe if anyone is interested. Just leave me a comment.
You know how it is, when you go to a party and the cake is one of those store bought things with gobs of sickly sweet icing that has been dyed multiple colors. During clean up you notice almost no one has really finished their piece.
Well, with this cake you will be picking up licked clean plates. Just put those babies back on the shelf.
Ok, just kidding, you really do need to wash them, but just a little.
;->
So that's it for today...hopefully I will be organizing a really cool fabric giveaway very soon and getting back into some cool creative stuff.
Be sure to come visit again.
Until next time...be kind and stay creative.

Great shots of the clouds! They are beautiful. I do try to notice the beauty the Lord provides us each and every day. Today it was rays of sun streaming to the ground while I was commuting home. I am blessed to have a commute that involves some beautiful scenery.
