Salvation Macy's Lamp Rebirth

Hello friends...happy to have you visit again.
Remember my thrift shop lamp that I gave a Wedgwood makeover?
I was going to put it in my shop, but the Secret Agent liked it and said we should keep it.
He is going to have to get over that kind of thinking.
Rather dull looking before.

Love how she looks now.
I got so many e-mails and comment telling me to keep it and to look for another one to paint for the shop.
Off to my Salvation Macy's!
I found this lamp and it was only $6.00.
I was attracted to the pretty glass ball in the stem.
So let's play..shall we.
After taping off the glass ball, I got out the chalk paints.
A little Provence here...a little Old White there.
Some clear wax and a good buff.
I'm starting to sound like a broken record!
What do you think?
Really like the glass ball.
I think I can see Auntie Emm!
I'm a little in love with the color Provence.
I distressed her just a touch.
So this lamp I'll keep and the Wedgwood lamp will go to my shop.
Or maybe I should sell this lamp also and look for another one for my home
;->

Until next time...be kind and stay creative.

  2. Do you have elves helping you create these treasures, Janet? I couldn't part with the "glass ball" lamp if it were mine.

  3. Over from French Country Cottage. I too love to paint a lamp. Recently got hold of my gold ones. Yours look great. I do like the glass ball on the blue one.

  5. Oh Janet, keep them both and look for a third for your shop........

It's just gorgeous......that glass ball gives it such a delicate and unique look.

Loving that Provence too. You have such an eye for these transformations Janet, well done.

  6. Love the glass ball one. Yesterday I counted 32 lamps at the local GW. There's just no place else to put a lamp in my house! And I've just about got my daughter's house at full capacity, too :-)
Working on crocheted skirts for a couple lamp shades now.

  16. I've been admiring your ASCP lamp makeovers. I'm considering trying it myself, instead of spray paint, but I'm a little worried about the wax. Won't the heat of the light bulb soften the wax? I live in a warm climate and I do use my lamps for reading. melisa (at) toadinaboat (dot) com

  17. Also, do not forget to wash the HEPA filter's screen by soaking it in water. Mostly people would use pressure washers to clean their cars. Wash your hands again. If they are blocked and cannot be cleaned, you may have to disassemble the washing arms may be required. If possible, remove handles as these may catch or damage other items during the move.
