Hello friends...thanks for coming back to visit. Today after my daily walk, I spent the rest of the day tucked into my studio. I was trying to decide what to work on...play with remnants, sew up some fleece or maybe try my hand at cotton knits. I could not decide, so I played with all of it!
Here are the fruits of my labor...
I love hunting through all my many designer remnant pieces. I especially love the rich texture these home decor fabrics have that you can't really get with regular dress cottons.
Often when I buy remnants, I will find the same pattern in multiple color combos. If you notice the interior is the same as the exterior..just different base color. Makes for very nice pairing. I think I will sew up a lot of these for my Holiday Home Show this Fall in New York.
I have so much fun playing with polar fleece. It is so very soft and very easy to sew with.
I was trying to think of new , outside the box, ways to embellish my fingerless gloves. I really want to appeal to the younger crowd. I played around and sewed small zippers onto a pair and I love it! So funky and youthful. Unexpected!
Tiffany blue is always a popular color to sell. These fleece cowls are fabulously toasty and comfortable.
I love the soft color blocked pattern of this fleece. I made a matching rosette for the hat.
Of course Animal prints are all the rage. Black, White and Pink...so Parisian!
Fleece is stretchy, soft and so practical for the cold weather.
Very Psychedelic and Woodstockish. Of course I would not know about Woodstock...I was only a tiny baby....... :-)
I have not sewn with knits before..they always scared me a little. Anything that was stretchy was a little scary to me. Fear of the unknown I guess. Well happy to say I conquered that fear also.
I found this pattern on the internet. It was a VideoJug video with British sewing maven Zoe Edwards. So cute.
These little Infant caps were a breeze to sew up. I will definitely be getting creative with these. I have a new baby grand nephew who will look so cute in a blue one.
