$15.00 to Fabulous!

Hello friends.....thanks so much for visiting once again.
Ready for some more ASCP magic???
*
So the other day I'm at my local consignment shop just looking around.
I don't usually find much at consignment shops as the the prices can be a little steep for my taste.
I'm cheap...
There, I said it!
However
the other day just as I was about to leave,
I spotted a chair sitting way up on top of a clothing rack.
I asked the checkout girl for its price

As she struggled to get the chair down I was feeling a bit guilty,
thinking it was going to be too expensive and she would have been put out.
The chair was only $15.00!!!
It was very sturdy, solid wood and had a nice plump cushioned seat.
Now I can work with this baby!!!!
I searched through my fabric stash for the seat cushion
and found this vintage looking
Ralph Lauren remnant piece.

Once I picked the fabric, I needed to decide on a color.
Out came my handy ASCP color chart.
One of my favorite ASCP colors, Duck Egg Blue, was a perfect match.

After removing the cushion,
I applied two coats of Duck Egg Blue

I let my paint thicken a bit in the can and brushed on the second coat in a slip slap method.
I wanted to see brush strokes and not a smooth sprayed on look.
This is where Annie Sloan's paint excels way beyond what I could do with latex.

Just enough dark wax to enhance the beauty of the paint.

I really love this fabric and I have been itching to use it on a project
Love the cottage-old fashioned feel of it.

I think the paint and the fabric are just perfect for each other

Yup....not bad for $15.00
I hope someone else feels the same way about her.
Sunday she will be going to my space at the Fox Den Antiques Mall

**UPDATE**
Yesterday, I was staging all my new painted pieces in my two shops
and a little old lady (think late 80's) tapped me on the shoulder and asked what kind of wood was under all this 'crappy' paint.
OMGosh, I never laughed so hard and she looked at me very strangely.
I told her I painted all the crappy paint.
She walked away muttering something about natural wood and to each his own.
I should have been offended,
but she was so cute that she totally made my day.

Oh yeah...and I'm still making vintage sheet music wreaths of all sizes.
I'm gearing up for our big Fox Den Holiday Open House
which will be on Dec 3, Saturday.
Sparkle...Sparkle

Until next time...be kind and stay creative.
PS...Big..Big thank you for all the well wishes in response to my
Annie Sloan Stockist news.
You guys rock!
