Hello again my friends.....I'm always amazed
that you continue to come back and for that I say
"Thank You"
Are you guys in the mood for
some chalk paint
magic?
I found this wooden fruit bowl at my local
Salvation Macy's.
I don't know what kind of wood it is, but it was super light
and very well made.
It had no exceptional grain so I decided to freshen it up a bit.
After a coat of ASCP Provence and a white wash of
Old White
I now have a very cottage chic
Pedestal Bowl
I will repeat myself once again
I love how ASCP distresses
and the soft glow of the clear wax finish
She is already sitting pretty in my shop!
Ok...on to the next project.
I have been looking for a piece of furniture to use as a display case for my inventory of
Annie Sloan Chalk Paint
In case you have not heard...
I'M A STOCKIST!!!!!!!
Ok...I had to announce that one more time
;->
I found this basic bookshelf with adjustable shelves, but it needed some major love.
Her shelves were covered with contact paper..
ugly contact paper.
I gave the exterior and interior walls two coats of ASCP Versailles.
Never mind that this is not even real wood,
it doesn't matter with ASCP
it covers pretty much anything
Since ASCP makes me want to sing, I decided to decoupage the shelves and back of the
unit in
antique sheet music.
I added some pretty wood trim and will show you the finished piece very soon.
You can wait...right??
Another vendor at The Fox Den sold me this great dresser.
I have been looking for a dresser with a flat front so I could paint a cool graphic
design
This dresser is perfect!!
Again...you will have to wait just a bit for this one too.
Finally, I want to share a few fabulous photos I was able to take the other evening.
It had been a cloudy day and all of a sudden just as the sun was setting
it hit the tops of the trees
and
everything started to
GLOW
It was incredible
Like God flipped a light switch on.
All the lollypop pear trees are beginning to glow a fiery red.
I love the colors of Autumn!
I love my view
Until next time...be kind and stay creative.

Can't wait to see your makeovers with ASCP. Those fall photos are amazing!
First, congrats on being a stockist for Annie Sloan. Nice!
And second, those photos are AMAZING. Truly amazing.
Is that a photo of your home? If it is, you live in a little piece of Heaven on Earth.
Janet, I just love following your site. I am looking forward to the day I find some ASCP! Now I know the lingo! I can't wait to see what happens to the ugly bookshelf! I'm all !!!
You tease. :-) I love the fruit bowl and can't wait to see the others when finished.
Hugs,
A x
Oh my, those sunlight photos are amazing! The last one looks unreal.
Loving the wooden fruit bowl.
I just love it when the sun does that - we must have similar climates, (though we don't have your amazing autumn leaf display) as that looks like a very Cotswold lighting. Your shop looks just as I thought it would, quite beautiful. X
Ohhhh my goodness your pictures of the fall leaves are absolutely gorgeous!!
I am loving your fruit bowl too and can't wait to see your other projects!
I haven't tried a wash of white but I really like how that looks!!
What a beautiful place to live! You have such great pictures no mater what the season! The fruit bowl is gorgeous and has been given a new life by you! Can't wait to see the others!!
Katy :)
Can't help being a little jealous of the scenery where you live since I live in Florida! All I can say is "wow"!
Your projects are beautiful!
and your pictures... all I can say is I'm jealous of your view...
Love it! Can't wait to get up there to get some paint...and to see what you do with the next pieces :)
Amy
Your Fall Photos are absolutely super spectacular!! My eyes just loved taking the colors in!!!
Your projects look like they're going to be some real winners in the look-i-loo department!
So wonderful in what you did to update the wooden fruit bowl!! Just lovely!!!
Wishing you a good and relaxing weekend!!!
Love the first piece.
Congratulations on becoming a stockist, Janet! (Sorry to be a bit late...I'm catching up after being out of town for a week...) How exciting!
And your photos are absolutely stunning...like totally calendar worthy! I do believe the Shenandoah Valley is one of the prettiest places in the country.
Oh, and P.S.--the pedestal bowl is great! I keep hoping I'll find one at Goodwill to repaint. They're so versatile for decorating.
I know just the time you are talking about ... the fall colors and light were gorgeous. You captured it perfectly, and that photo across the field is unbelievable. Wow!!
OMGosh, I have that same pedestal bowl and I love the way it looks transformed with ASCP. I'm gonna have to get me some of that!
