This sweater is a fabulous red with tiny tweedy specs of color all through it. Blue, yellow, gold and orange..they are all in there, but so tiny that unless you get right up close you don't really see them. It is not a heavy wool, just a nice light, soft draping wool. It began as a turtleneck pullover. I cut it up the front and then cropped the bottom half off to create a bolero look, while leaving it slightly longer in the back for interest.
A flirty cotton ruffle of a pretty Robert Kaufman print was added to the bottom hem.
I was going to put in a zipper, but it looked too harsh that way, so I embellished with a coordinating bright yellow button and black elastic loop for closure. I left the flap from the turtleneck and it makes a very nice sailor collar. I think my Bolero jacket will look adorable on some lucky little girl. Drop me a note and let me know what you think.
