My Wedding Gown Trend Prediction

CONGRATULATIONS WILLIAM & CATHERINE!
LOVED this Wedding Gown!

Hello friends...Yes, I did get up before dawn to watch the Royal Wedding.
When I was a brand new Mom and a young 27 year old, I remember rising early to watch Charles and Diana marry.
We American love a good Royal Wedding.

I am prepared to predict that we will see a huge serge in young brides foregoing the popular strapless wedding gown in favor of a more demure style with sleeves.
Wow...Kate is a fashion trendsetter on day #1.

I thought she looked stunning and that gown by Sarah Burton was magnificent!
Well done Brits!

Until next time...be kind and stay creative and romantic  ;-)>

Hi Janet
I too was a new Mum watching Charles and Diana's wedding. In fact my super cute one year old, Laura, took her very first steps during that wedding! She walked right in front of the TV as if to say "Look at ME!!!" (By the way, that one year old will be making me a Granny for the first time in November!)

Wasn't her gown just gorgeous?!I thought she looked so beautiful and I loved the cut and everything of the gown. Modest and so feminine! I agree with you...this will absolutely set a new trend and one that will be a welcome change! :)

I stayed up all night to watch and am so glad I did even if I am just dragging tonight. It's such a historical event.

God bless you - Julie

I hope we see a new trend. I have always loved this style. In fact, Janet, I kind of envisioned something like this for myself, but the veil that I wore if you remember was so lacy that I went very plain, but if I had seen something like this then I would have loved it. When I got married, stapless was everywhere.

My dress was European in design. Leigh

So you are a Royal Romantic also!!!
Enjoyed so much your post of Kate
entering to the church!
Like you, I'm going to enjoy watching
wedding dress designers in-corporate
the style Kate's re-introduction of "lace".
I also commend the young girl for keeping
everything so beautifully simple in the
harsh economic times England is having!
Thanks again for posting this wonderful event!

I agree Janet! It was so refreshing to see a beautiful bride dressed in such a traditional and demurely innocent gown. I thought it was magnificent!

I loved it too! I woke up at 4:15 then fell asleep at some point and woke back up at 6:10 just in time to see her reach Wills! I had to go back to my dvr to see her walk down the aisle!

It was such a treat to this beautiful and historical event. I too loved Kate's dress and did you know she did her own make-up? I thought that was fantastic. She and William seem very content and in love with each other. I wish them the very best!

I had to watch myself! I remember being nine years old and watching Lady Di's wedding and I wasn't about to miss this one. I even pulled my kiddos out of bed to watch. Their hooked! Days later and we are still talking and learning about the royal family.
