Surprises are good!

My sweet Wren fledgling welcoming me home
Hello friends...Thank you for all the e-mails and sweet comments wishing my Mom well. She handled  her surgery beautifully and it was declared a success.
My Mom is incredible...she will be 84 in August and not on ANY medications. Her GYN Oncologist was amazed that she is not on blood pressure, cholesterol or any arthritic medications. She takes a vitamin...that's it!
She had a partial Vulvectomy, which only took around 35 minutes. Came out of recovery quickly and within an hour of being moved to her hospital room, had gotten up twice. I know many 40 year olds who would not have been that peppy.
My sisters and I were in her room with her and she was joking and laughing...no signs of just having had surgery. My sister Joanne was worried Mom might get asked to give up her bed for a really sick person.
She would say to Mom.."can't you give us a little look of pain or maybe drool a little???"
Although I joke now, I was really very relieved that all went so well. Now we just wait for the pathology report. Love the waiting game.
Once home in her apartment, my Mom continued to thrive. After staying with her for a week, she still had not taken one pill of any kind for pain...not even an aspirin!
I have to tell you...she could not stop talking about her super handsome Oncologist and how, if she were 50 years younger, she would pursue him ;->
Gotta love senior citizens...they say what's on their minds.
So here I am ...home again and missing all of you terribly.
I returned home to so many wonderful surprises.
Oscar & Dolores in their new homes
While I was in New York, my order from  Willow House arrived. I have been looking for affordable glass cloches to display my beautiful needle felted Gretel Parker creations. Most of the domes I found were way too expensive. My friend Leslie just became a representative for Willow House and directed me to their online catalogue. BINGO! They have two sizes and I purchased two large...I love them!
Thank you Leslie.
My tall German Iris garden was like a rainbow and the aroma was so lovely.
The blooms are huge and I think they smell like orange juice

One of the best surprises was a sweet Mockingbird couple who had set up housekeeping in one of my Knockout Rose bushes. Can you see her looking at me as I took her photo?
She is being a very good mama....her nest is not very protected and it poured the other night. I could hardly sleep for worrying about her getting soaked. I was tempted to stand out there with an umbrella over her.
I snapped this while she was off to forage for food...we will have four baby Mockingbirds!!!
We also have three baby Eastern Bluebirds in a box and a gorgeous family of Tree Swallows nesting in another.
I'm so excited.
So that is what I  had waiting for me in Virginia...along with a husband who was happy to have me back.
Since coming home , I have been trying to catch up on all my blog reading.
Please forgive me if I don't get a chance to comment on all your fun and wonderful postings. I simply have run out of time. I will just proceed from here and hope that really cool stuff did not happen last week.
I have been doing some thinking...contemplating...and regrouping while I was away. Once I have a solid game plan, I will tell you guys all about it.
I will be making some creative changes regarding my online shop and my vision for how I want to proceed from here.
My little brain has been working overtime.
So that's it for now. I am looking forward to getting back in the blogging groove and visiting everyone again.
Thank you all for the wonderful comments on my recent blog posts...you never fail to put a smile on my face.
Until next time...be kind and stay creative.

I'm so happy your mom is doing well!

I think that time that we pull ourselves away from technology can be our most creative. Can't wait to see what you have in store for your shop!

Ooh, suddenly my comment disappeared before I posted. Apologies if you hear form me twice Janet.

So glad to hear your mum is well. She is amazing Janet you have inherited some great genes.

What a stunning array of colours in your Iris garden. How nice to come home and have them greet you and how exciting to have Robins nesting in your garden. Aren't those eggs precious? Beautiful colours.........

Nice to have you back in Blogland, can't wait to see what all that 'thinking time' brings.......

Oh you deserved all that loveliness! I am so glad to hear that your mother is recovering well, what a blessed relief. I love the colours of the robins eggs (a bit similar to our British robins, but darker and bigger). And, what a great idea with the domes, I wish ALL my toys were protected as well. I do worry about them...take some time out and rest that tumbling brain of yours. XX

Your mother sounds amazing, I'm glad she's doing well.

Until I clicked on the robin photo I thought it was a rabbit with it's long ear!
