Hello friends.....just a very quick post.
This is something I saw on my eldest son's Facebook page.
I just HAD to share.
This is so relevant and so sadly true...
at least in many young girls minds.
Funny...a majority of the comments left on the page
were from
MEN!
They were agreeing that they preferred the bottom row of beauties.
Surprise...Surprise!
What are your thoughts on this?
Until next time...be kind and stay creative.

It's funny that you called this food for thought because food would never cross the girl's lips at the top of that collage!
Like many other women, I'm never really happy with my body. However, given the choice between the two I'd rather look like the bottom photos. I like muscle rather than bones and will just have to live with the fact that I just come with meat on my bones.
Someday I will be secure enough to celebrate that! In the meantime I'll just plug away and try to ignore the scale :)
I would be happy being somewhere in between the two sizes, but at my age I have to ask myself if it really matters anymore. Just so I am healthy.
They all look so ill and shapeless on the top row, so I prefer the older stars. Marilyn Monroe and Elizabeth Taylor were both stunningly beautiful. I wouldn't describe any of the top row in the same way. I just asked husband, and he prefers the bottom row!
Men are always way more accepting of women's bodies than women are. I'm with Di ... give me meaty and healthy over thin and bony anytime.
The top row looks malnourished. With age comes enough wisdom to know that being stick thin isn't the greatest achievement we can aim for.
Betty certainly looks good. Elizabeth, too.
Is that Shirley Jones?
Hopefully more young people will start agreeing with your son and his friends, and girls won't feel they have to starve themselves to be attractive!
Just to play the devil's advocate here...I do notice that the top row of women look more natural in their facial expressions even if they're scrawny. The women from a few generations ago seemed to have to look coquettish and sexy when someone pointed a camera at them while they were posing in a bathing suit. I think women who's main object it to appeal to men's desires are in general a big rounder and fuller, even today. Big breasts are still in. The skinny ones are mainly fashion models and they're about as asexual as you can get. I suppose I look forward to the day when a woman's body can not be such a huge object of attention. But maybe I'm dreaming.
Women are supposed to be curvey. The media has poisoned everyone and now, even young men are supposed to all be buff, buff, buff. Nice to hear that men prefer the curvey women, but what is so sad to my mind is the fact that I look back on my figure from my youth and I shake my head when I remember how I thought I was fat when I had a BEAUTIFUL figure. If you compliment a peer or another women, she will always say she isnt' at her perfect weight...even if she looks great. So, very sad. I would be over the moon if I weighed 130 pounds, a weight I once thought was fat on a 5'5' frame. WHAT WAS I THINKING???
That's the best example of Girls vs Women. When a man says he wants a woman....bottom row. When he wants a woman like his mother...bottom row. When he wants to impress his boss...bottom row. When he wants to be taken care of...bottom row. When he want to be taken seriously...bottom row. Only when he is looking for a short term play mate does he look at the kids from next door that he remembers at ages 11-15 which is...top row.
My husband says the bottom row by far, he says who wants a woman who looks more like a boy?
I can't stand what the media tries to push as the norm for how a woman should look. Those girls just need to EAT!
On another note, you won the Betsy Speert giveaway!!
Oh my! Curves looks so much better. I'll never understand why so many woman think they have to starve themselves.
