~ The mothership of vintage beauties ~

Hello friends...
I know my posts have few and far between, so I really appreciate your visits.
I won't pretend to try to be better at posting...because I probably won't.
I simply need more hours in the day.
But I am here now, so on with the post...

See this huge tub of vintage linens???
They are all MINE!!!!!
I answered a Craig's List posting last week and chatted with a lovely lady in Northern Virginia.
She had decided to part with her 20+ year collection of beautiful vintage tablecloths, napkins, pillow slips and much more.
She had warned me that I would not find a collection like this with anyone who was still alive.
Needless to say I was VERY intrigued and could not wait to see her stash.

After sorting and folding, I had over 60 pieces!

She also agreed to part with a collection of vintage metal trash cans.
The yellow ones are hand painted and the ones in the back are factory applied floral designs.
One is even pink on the inside!!!
I don't expect these beauties to last very long at The Empty Nest.

I also purchased a couple of gorgeous hand painted tole trays.
LOVE the background color!

My new friend had so many more items...I could not take them all, but promised her to share with all of you.
Just look at these awesome chairs.....very well made and I love the fabric. You should see how well they were reupholstered! Under the cushions the seat is button tufted!!!
Under the seat....only a expert would bother with beautiful little touches like that.
These chairs and the pretty ruffled ottoman are for sale.
Available for sale are gilded mirrors, a beautiful cushioned chaise lounge, antique wardrobes and so much more.
I will be sharing photos very soon, but if you can't wait...call the shop.

Ok...that's it for now.

Until next time...be kind and stay creative.

Wow! What a wonderful collection of items. You are right, they won't be in the shop for long.

Great find, Janet! I'm looking for a gilded mirror at least 4-5' tall but must have curvy sides, not just rectangular. Anything like that at her house?

Gotta love Craig's List, and you found a bunch of real treasure! Your shop has turned into a linen lover's paradise. Wastebasket with roses? Maybe. :)

Well, you are given absolution for your blogging sins because of all the beauties you shared here. Hope you didn't have to sign away your youngest child to get that stash from that woman. Amazing collection of things. WOW! I really am glad to see a post from you, Janet-xo Diana
