I wanted to share with you something fun
that I received in the mail the other day.
I had ordered a set of my art coasters from my Online Vida shop.
This design is called October Roses
I am so very pleased with the color matching to the original painting and with the exceptional quality.
This is the original painting...pretty good match, don't you think?
They come in a set of four, are made right here in the USA and are made from bamboo.
They have four rubber pads to keep them from moving on your table.
Nice touch.
They arrived in a sweet box with a see-through lid.
Perfect Hostess gift!

Today at my local Home Depot, I was browsing through their holiday things and spotted dozens of boxes marked 'Amaryllis'.
They had been marked down because the growing season was coming very close. Most folks buy these so they will bloom for the holidays. Plus many were beginning to poke through the boxes.
I picked out a pretty variegated one. Can you believe this amaryllis and pot was in this box!!
When I got to the checkout, I asked the girl if they would consider any additional markdown, as it was poking through the box.
She said, "Sure, how about another 10%?"
You bet I told her, which meant I was getting it for less than $5.00.
I never ask for discounts when I shop in my local indie shops, however, in the big box stores, I have no problem. The sad thing is that if these don't sell, they will throw them out!
So ...no, I have no problem asking for a discount with the big guys.
