Janet Metzger art equals tote bag love! Society6 quality excels again.

Hello friends!
Welcome back to my little corner of the blogosphere.
As much as I try to look the other way, it is inevitable that the holidays are coming and they always arrive sooner than we thought.
I have been doing some holiday shopping in my own
 online boutique.
They are currently all (almost 100 designs) being offered at a 30% discount!
They are beautifully made and super roomy with a gusseted bottom.
They are offered in two sizes.
Here are just a few of my designs.

I ordered this bag, see the photo below.

Here is the bird nest tote bag I ordered.
They reproduced my art work beautifully!
The soft pastel colors of this tote are spot on.
Tote bags are the perfect gift to give alone or to act as a package to place another gift into!
As we are all trying to move away from single use shopping bags, these totes are a stylish alternative.

On a creative note, lately I have been crushing on the beauty of vintage style florals.
You know, the ones you find in a thrift/antique shop. They almost resemble the old fashioned paint-by-number paintings our grandmothers used to do.
Here is my version.
I am using
water mixable oil paints on wood Gesso boards.

I am really loving the soft pastels in these.
I try to keep them light and whimsical.

A few 'in-process' photos.
Here I am painting in the pastel background.

That's what I have been up to lately.
I hope you are finding some time to express your creativity however you choose.
It's so good for the soul.
Here is a sneak peek of things to come...

Until then....
As the Koreans are fond of saying...
"Stay healthy, eat good food and sleep well!"
Hugs,
Janet xx

Nesting...What has Janet been up to, art, life and more!

Hello friends!
Has it really been 7 months since my last post??? I'm so sorry. Life just seems to keep getting in the way.
With the more sever health restrictions being eased, people are getting back to actively living their lives and are busy again.
I am sure all of you maybe have the same problem.

I know some of you follow me on Facebook and Instagram. It seems that Facebook has once again changed their algorithms and not to our benefit. Also over on Instagram (owned by Facebook Meta) they are pushing 'reels' in order to better compete with TikTok.
I am finding that posting on Facebook is very time consuming, I am constantly having to waste so much time blocking accounts that Facebook keeps suggesting and wanting me to follow.
Accounts I have NO interest in!
My Instagram account, with over 4,000 hard earned  from followers, was hacked!
It had taken me so many years to build my account.
They are spoiling what fun Facebook/Instagram used to be.
It took years to build my account up and in the blink of an eye...
GONE!
Instagram offered ZERO help in recovering my account from the Nigerian bitcoin seller.
UGH!
I had to start from scratch and again, so time consuming.
Facebook/Instagram's algorithms restrict who
 sees my posts. Very frustrating.
Your experience may be different, but mine is currently dismal.
I am seriously considering walking away and concentrating my efforts here on my blog.
I don't mean to sound like a whiny complainer, this has just been my experience.
In the mean time, I will leave you with a little gallery of what I have been up to lately.

Thank you for sticking with me and supporting my art.
(PS...My Society6 online shop is having a fabulous 40% off sale on wall art!)
Click the Society6 link on the right side bar to shop.
Sending much love and as the Koreans are fond of saying...
Stay healthy, eat good food and sleep well.

New blog post! What on earth has Janet Metzger been up to??

Hello, Hello ..HELLO!!!!

Is anyone still out there??  My goodness, I haven't blogged in about a year and a half!

These last two years have been a blur and it has been so hard to keep in touch  with folks.

No lunches with girlfriends, movie dates, thrifting, antique hunting, dinners out with my guys.

My family couldn't even spend the holidays together in 2021.

However, we are all triple vaccinated now and are gathering in my home once again.

I realize many have not been so lucky and have lost loved ones. To those families I send

comforting thoughts of healing from my heart.

So, what have I been up to these last few years??

LOTS of painting!!

Lots of crocheting and knitting!

I even crocheted myself and ultra cozy fun jacket!

Basically I have been in a deep, all encompassing creative mode for the last two years.
I  took on MANY home decor projects, which I plan on sharing soon.
With that I will say so long for now. I promise to visit here on a more regular basis.
If you are reading this, thank you for not giving up on me.
Sending love + stars of creativity your way...
Janet xx

PS...I know that many of us are feeling helpless about the severe plight of the strong Ukranian people, during this frightening time. War is always ugly and rarely spares the innocent.
If you are looking for a way to help the millions who are fleeing for safety,

is a wonderful non profit run by well known Chef, Jose Andres.
Chef Andres has gathered a large team of culinary folks who are making their mission to put hot meals in the bellies of all those coming across the many different national  borders.
Their website makes it easy to donate a few dollars or as much as you can afford.
This is a really tangible way to help, food is life!
Please consider making a donation, the people of Ukraine thank you.
